Welcome to St Albans City Band

band_2011We are a friendly and community focussed brass band who have been making a contribution to local musical life for over 120 years. A busy schedule of concerts and engagements finds the band performing throughout Hertfordshire and beyond. We also have our own 10-piece group for hire who play a wide variety of music both old and new.

We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 8 - 10pm at our very own Bandroom which is located at Unit 5a, Parkway, Porters Wood, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL3 6PA.

If you'd like to come along and meet us, please contact us.

St Albans City Band are pleased to announce the launch of their new Training Band which will start in January 2020. As a local charity, we want to promote education and performance of music in St Albans and the surrounding areas, and to make the learning of music accessible to everyone.

The training band will be open to all aspiring young musicians, regardless of ability or prior experience, and tuition of brass and percussion instruments will take place alongside rehearsals of the band. The band will be directed by Craig Patterson, an accomplished local musician, conductor and tutor - it is intended that regular concerts will be held, including joint performances with the main band.

Membership of the training band will cost £1 per week including tuition and instruments will be available to loan at no extra cost. Sessions will take place every Wednesday evening during term time in our dedicated bandroom in Porters Wood, St Albans and will last for one hour; the first half hour will be for teaching, and the second for the rehearsal. Parents will be more than welcome to come along to the rehearsals and even to learn to play themselves! The first session will take place on Wednesday 8th January 2020 starting at 6:30pm.

If you would like to find out more about the training band, please feel free to get in touch via the 'Contact Us' tab on the website or directly to Julie Littlemore at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
