Our latest cohort of brass beginners are making great progress with Beth! It’s wonderful. And as for the Community Band – such fun in the band room!

A sea of cornets
Our bands are really growing. How wonderful it was to see and hear a sea of cornets tonight, and all of them St Albans City Band players.
Our Youth Band are Happy and playing marches – join us!
Here our Youth Band are playing Happy and the march Rise and Shine. Maybe they’ll be playing it while marching up and down the car park soon.
City Band rehearsing hard for our Autumn concert!
St Albans City Band has been working hard (and enjoying it) in preparation for our Autumn concert. Here we are playing El Capitan by Sousa and a bit of Wagner.
Our Community Band is thriving!
Rehearsals for our Community Band (adults Grade 2 to 5 standard) have been absolutely packed and great fun so far this term, preparing for our Autumn concert!
St Albans City Band plays at the Harpenden Mencap street party
We were delighted to be invited to play at the Harpenden Mencap street party at the weekend, and really enjoyed the event even though it rained a lot! Here are some clips from the day.
Playing pop tunes with Kenny
Under Kenny’s baton tonight, we played some classical pieces but also found time to blast out a couple of 80s ballads by Whitney Houston and Elton John. Enjoy!
Blowing raspberries and playing brass for the first time
Exciting times in week one of our free absolute beginners brass course! We’ve done breathing, blowing raspberries, and playing our first notes on our instruments. All led expertly by professional trombonist Beth Pippen.
