We’ve ben playing some lovely music on Wednesday evenings with the City Band this term, pratising for our April concert.
Our latest cohort of brass beginners are awesome! Here they are in Week 4 with guest teacher Martyn and they’re already sounding great!
“Play this bit like swans! The horns are gliding like the body over the surface, lower brass paddling away like the legs underwater. If you can only see the legs, the swan is ill!” Thanks for conducting us tonight, Alan.
It was very exciting to meet our eight new adult beginners who started with Beth tonight and sounded great! Welcome to the wonderful world of brass.
It was great to be back in the band room tonight, playing lots of lovely new music. And a chance to congratulate Reuben, Nick and Trevor, seen here proudly holding their Diploma, Grade 3 and Grade 6 Certificates respectively.
St Albans City Band really enjoyed playing at the St Saviours Christmas Tree Festival on 20 December. And no better way to end our 2025 events calendar than a bit of local neighbourhood carolling! See you in 2026!
