Another set of photos of St Albans City Band courtesy of former member Philip Cook taken at Hatfield House in the summer of 1996. The regular Sunday band concerts at this location were a common feature of most local Band’s calendars for a good number of years, but I think they must have finally ceased about 10 years ago. Individual captions and names are on each photo. Also some nice views of the ex-Post Office jackets the band had at this time.

Jim Hooper and Len Smith on bass, Harry Remblance on Euphonium, Gale Lawson on Bass Trombone and Ted Burney on Tenor Trombone, Nick Doolan on bass. Not sure what happened to the other trombone player, but they were clearly expected!

Dave Thomas on the far right on flugel, Ted Burney on trombone behind him with Ken French visible on horn.

Philip Cook on rep, not sure who the chap is on third cornet.

Richard Cooper far left on horn, Ken French next to him, unsure of the lady’s name, then Dave Thomas and Ted Burney far right.

Philip Cook second from left, then Robert Sutherland. Don’t know the other names.
